![]() This is important so that your computer is "aware" of the Oculus device by being in the same LAN. What this does is it makes the dedicated router not "route", so that it takes an IP from the main network and allows devices connected to it by wireless (such as the quest) also take an IP address from the downstairs router. There are inexpensive compatible routers, just look it up on OpenWrt/DDWRT wikis. I would also advise in getting a router that is compatible with OpenWRT or DDWRT in case you need to be sure you achieve what you need. I would try both using the WAN port and one of the LAN ones. In fact, it may even be required that you DON'T for some models. You shouldn't even need to connect the dedicated router to the PC through its WAN port. You will have to make sure that the sharing is done TO the wired NIC on Windows, which may be tricky. It should have a mode like that instead of Router. ![]() For this to work, connect stuff as you have on the diagram, share internet connection between the wifi NIC and the wired one on your PC (effectively bridging them), and set the dedicated router to be an AP (access point). You want your dedicated router to be a "dumb" switch, aka an Access Point.
